Proposed cell tower to be moved further from road

Zoe Morrison of Sheinberg Associates in Juneau reported in an e-mail sent out the afternoon of Thursday, July 7 that to address concerns raised about the proposed cell tower location during a meeting held in Talkeetna on June 8, the tower will be moved an additional 150 feet away from the road.

The proposed tower location will now be approximately 280 feet from the paved portion of the road and will be less visible to passing motorists and local residents, Morrison said.

A second public informational meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, in the Talkeetna Elementary School gym. Morrison invites everyone t o come to the meeting to get more information and give feedback about this proposed project.

An updated site plan is in the works and will be sent out before the meeting, Morrison said.
