Fireworks illegal except in Houston

Fireworks are illegal in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough for the July 4th celebration. A $500 fine is possible. The City of Houston allows them. Or enjoy the professional show in Wasilla at 11 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, in Iditapark.

Only during the winter, when the conditions are not ripe for fire, fireworks are legal on New Year's Eve in the Borough.
